Short answer

Yes, LactiGo ships to Canada from its official store, shop.lactigo.com: orders take 2 business days to process and typically 3–5 to arrive. Choose the menthol or menthol-free gel; the total is shown at checkout. Ordering here gets you 10% off your first order through our link, and every batch is Informed Sport tested.

The simplest way to buy LactiGo in Canada is the brand’s own store, shop.lactigo.com, which ships to Canada: orders take 2 business days to process and typically 3–5 business days to arrive. It lists $55 US for a 100 ml bottle, with or without menthol, and Canadian orders go through the brand’s CAD storefront, so your total in Canadian dollars, with shipping, is shown at checkout. A few Canadian retailers list it too, but stock varies and our first-order discount applies only on the official store. Health Canada lists a LactiGo gel as a licensed natural health product, and every batch is tested under Informed Sport. On the evidence: in a 2025 triple-blind trial, seven international rugby sevens players produced 5–10% more peak power on LactiGo than on a placebo with the same menthol, in the authors’ summary; mean power did not change, and how it works is not established.

Where can you buy LactiGo in Canada?

From LactiGo’s official online store, which ships to Canada. Every buy link on this site goes there — order LactiGo with menthol — and it is where you get the current formula, Informed Sport-tested batches and the money-back guarantee.

You may also find it at Canadian retailers: Ernie’s Sports Experts lists LactiGo on its website, and it appears on Instacart.ca. We have not checked their stock, prices or batch dates, and our first-order discount does not apply there. Our where-to-buy page covers Amazon and stores in the US.

LactiGo Performance & Recovery Gel: $55 for 100 mL, about five sessions at the trial dose.

Does LactiGo ship to Canada, and how long does it take?

Yes. The store’s FAQ says orders to Canada take 2 business days to process, and shipments typically take 3 to 5 business days to arrive — so plan on roughly one to one and a half weeks from order to door.

  • Order a week or more before a race or tournament you want to use it for.
  • The store ships to the US and Canada only, not overseas.
  • Shipping cost is shown at checkout; the store does not publish a flat rate.

How much does LactiGo cost in Canada?

The official store lists a 100 ml bottle at $55 US, the same with or without menthol. Canadian orders go through the brand’s CAD storefront, so the price in Canadian dollars and shipping are shown at checkout — we have not seen a published CAD price list, so we do not quote one.

At the trial dose of 10 ml per leg, a 100 ml bottle is about five sessions. Our LactiGo price breakdown covers the Go Packets, the 946 ml bottle and the subscription.

Is LactiGo licensed by Health Canada?

Yes — Health Canada’s Licensed Natural Health Products Database lists a LactiGo gel. The entry is NPN 80125210, brand name “Topical Muscle Gel”, licence holder Outplay Inc. / LactiGo Inc., a topical gel for ages 2 and up, licensed since June 2023 with an active licence.

  • Medicinal ingredient: l-menthol 1.25%.
  • Non-medicinal ingredients: ethoxydiglycol, glycerine, L-carnosine, magnesium sulfate, phenoxyethanol, water, xanthan gum.
  • The database shows its market status as “Not Marketed”, which is the default when a licence holder has not filed a notice; the database itself says such products may still be sold in Canada.

A licence is about the product’s ingredients, safety and labelled use; it is not a review of the sports trials.

Should you order the menthol or the menthol-free version?

Menthol if you want the version closest to what the trials used; menthol-free if you play a close-contact sport or dislike the smell. Both contain L-carnosine and magnesium sulfate and cost the same.

What is carnosine gel?

A gel you rub on the skin over the working muscle before training, containing carnosine — a dipeptide your muscle already stores. LactiGo is the carnosine gel that has been tested in trials. What carnosine does in the body covers the molecule itself; the carnosine gel evidence page covers every trial.

Is LactiGo a good product?

For repeated short sprints, it has the best trial of any carnosine gel — one small one. In Beaven et al. 2025, an independent, triple-blind trial, seven international rugby sevens players produced 5–10% more peak power across twelve sprints on LactiGo than on a placebo with the same menthol, per the authors; the gap was significant in sprints 2, 4 and 7.

  • Mean power, heart rate and perceived effort did not change, and only seven players finished.
  • An earlier field test in 11 Serie A footballers, co-authored by LactiGo staff, found three all-out 1000 m runs about 4% faster on average.
  • In ten racehorses, in a study co-authored by LactiGo staff, muscle carnosine was about 35% above placebo 30 minutes after application. That has not been measured in people.
  • In trained cyclists doing repeated Wingate sprints, a separate trial found no change.
  • How it works is not established.

Can Canadian athletes use LactiGo in drug-tested sport?

Carnosine is not on the WADA prohibited list, and every LactiGo batch is tested for banned substances under the Informed Sport programme — you can look up the batch number on your bottle. That lowers the risk; it does not remove your responsibility.

In Canada, anti-doping is run by Sport Integrity Canada, formerly the Canadian Centre for Ethics in Sport (CCES). It applies strict liability — you are responsible for anything found in your sample — says it cannot confirm that any supplement is free of prohibited substances, and refers athletes to a different programme, NSF Certified for Sport. If you are in a testing pool, check with your sport’s anti-doping contact before using any new product. Is LactiGo banned? covers the WADA side.

What are the side effects of LactiGo?

No trial of topical carnosine gel has reported a side effect. The menthol version carries the same kind of warnings as any menthol gel: for external use only, not on wounds or damaged skin, keep it away from the eyes, and do not use it with a heating pad.

The Canadian licence adds its own cautions: ask a health care practitioner before use if you are pregnant or breastfeeding, keep it out of children’s reach, stop if you get a rash, an allergic reaction or burning discomfort, and get medical help if you develop pain, swelling or blistering. More in carnosine gel side effects.

Where can I buy carnosine gel?

Online, mostly. LactiGo sells direct from its own store, which ships across the US and Canada. The other carnosine gel you will see, Carnosport, states 4% carnosine and leaves out menthol, but has no trials of its own — LactiGo vs Carnosport compares them, and the best carnosine gels covers the rest of the shelf.

How to use it, and how to order

The trials used about 10 ml per leg — ten pumps — applied 40–45 minutes before the first hard effort. The protocol page has the details. Try it on a session you know well so you can compare.
